Championship leaders Watford are well worth backing to stay top with a win at home to Ipswich Town this weekend.

The Hornets’ run of form, ten wins from 13 matches, has seen them surge to the summit, putting them in pole position for automatic promotion.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side are unbeaten in six games and with confidence soaring are fancied at 21/20 with William Hill to sink the Tractor Boys.

Watford can also boast an excellent record against Ipswich despite losing 1-0 to them back in November. This was only their second defeat to Ipswich since 2004 and the Hornets have won seven of the last ten meetings.

Mick McCarthy’s side are one place outside the play-offs but their form has been patchy lately with just one win in the last five games.

Ipswich’s form on the road has also been poor with five defeats in the last six, including their last three matches, so 14/5 (Coral) for an away win has no appeal.

Troy Deeney is the man of the moment with seven goals in the last six games so I make no apology for recommending another bet on the Watford striker to score at 6/5 with Paddy Power.

The Hornets have been winning at half time and full time in their last three victories at Vicarage Road so 23/10 (Coral) for this to happen also looks generous.
