Watford wing-back Juan Carlos Paredes has been selected in Ecuador’s preliminary squad for this summer’s Copa America.
La Tricolor have named an initial 30-man squad which will have to be cut down to 23 by coach Gustavo Quinteros by June 1.
Paredes in one of four England-based players in the Ecuador squad alongside Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia, Swansea City’s Jefferson Montero and West Ham United’s Enner Valencia.
Ecuador have been drawn in Group A of the competition, which begins on June 11, alongside Chile, Mexico and Bolivia.
Paredes has been capped 41 times and played in all three of Ecuador’s World Cup 2014 matches.
The 27-year-old joined the Hornets last July and went on to make 40 appearances for the Golden Boys in all competitions.
