The Watford Observer understands the Hornets are attempting to complete a deal for Internazionale midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic and are still waiting for Diego Perotti to decide his future after having a club-record bid accepted for the Genoa winger.

The Golden Boys have already sealed the signings of Sebastian Prodl and Giedrius Arlauskis this summer and have turned to Italy as they attempt to further bolster their squad.

Serbian international Kuzmanovic, who has played 51 times for his country, has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons at the San Siro following a move from German club VFB Stuttgart in January 2013.

He made 25 appearances last season for the Serie A club but looks set to leave Inter following their signing of Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco earlier this week.

West Ham United, who are managed by former Croatia boss Slaven Bilic, and German clubs Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen are also believed to be interested in the 27-year-old.

Watford’s move for Perotti is further along after the Hornets had a £7million offer accepted over the weekend.

Reports in Italy state the Golden Boys have offered to double the 26-year-old’s wages to around £993,000 per year.

However, Perotti, who has been capped twice by Argentina, is yet to agree a contract with the Golden Boys.

He is understood to be assessing his options, with West Ham also reportedly interested, before committing to future to the Hornets.

Perotti joined Genoa last summer for a reported £250,000 after five seasons with Spanish club Sevilla.

He put his previous injury woes behind him and impressed in his 27 outings, scoring four times.

If the Hornets are able to bring Perotti to Vicarage Road it would shatter Watford’s record transfer outlay of £3.25 million for Nathan Ellington in 2007.

And reports in Italy state Watford are attempting to make it a triple Serie A swoop with Inter Milan and former Newcastle United defender Davide Santon also on their wanted list.
