Internazionale full-back Davide Santon claims he is unaware of any transfer interest from Watford and says he wants to remain with the Nerazzurri.
Reports emanating from Italy yesterday stated the Hornets were looking to complete a deal for the former Newcastle United defender.
However, the 24-year-old posted a message on his Facebook page last night which read: “Hello guys, I read all your comments and want to say I know nothing about all this [Watford's interest]. I want to stay at Inter.
“Your comments were really very pleasing and I embrace you all with affection. Forza Inter!”
Santon began his career with Inter, breaking into the first team under Jose Mourinho during the 2008/2009 campaign.
But the Italian international fell down the pecking order at the San Siro over the next two seasons and, following a six-month loan move to Cesena in January 2011, left Inter permanently the following summer for Newcastle.
He spent three-and-a-half seasons at St James’ Park before heading back to Inter in January on loan. It was a move the Italian club made permanent earlier this summer.
