Matej Vydra’s two-year loan deal from Udinese to Watford hasn’t been officially confirmed but the striker has linked up with the Hornets squad for pre-season training.

We revealed on June 4 that the Czech Republic international was set to join the Golden Boys for a third loan spell and, while that hasn’t been announced, the 23-year-old has returned to the club’s London Colney training ground today.

Vydra joins the rest of the Hornets squad in beginning their preparations for the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign.

He has had a taste of top flight English football during a loan move at West Bromwich Albion two seasons ago.

However, it wasn’t a positive experience. Vydra was often played out wide and, while he registered three league goals from seven starts, he found himself used more frequently from the substitute’s bench by Steve Clarke and Pepe Mel.
