Watford have announced they have completed the signing of Jose Manuel Jurado from Russian side Spartak Moscow.

We reported on Saturday that the Hornets had clinched a deal for the attacking midfielder and the club have confirmed this afternoon he has signed a three-year deal at Vicarage Road.

The 29-year-old is a product of Real Madrid’s youth system but he left Los Blancos in August 2006 for city rivals Atletico Madrid after failing to break into the 'Galacticos' Real side.

He spent four years with Atleti, where he worked alongside current Hornets head coach Quique Sanchez Flores.

In 2010 the Rojiblancos sold Jurado against the wishes of Flores to Bundesliga side Schalke 04.

Jurado played 71 games for Die Königsblauen before heading to Russia and Moscow, originally on loan, in September 2012.

Jurado impressed sufficiently for Spartak to make the move permanent the following summer. In total he made 68 appearances for the club, scoring 14 times.

The Spaniard becomes the Hornets' ninth signing of the summer and their second of the day after the announcement this afternoon that defender Miguel Britos has joined on a three-year deal from Napoli.

The Hornets are also hoping to sign Steven Berghuis from AZ Alkmaar and are interested in Lex Immers from Feyenoord.
