Uwe Rosler has refused to comment on reports that Leeds United have agreed a deal with Watford for Fernando Forestieri but the Whites boss did hint the attacking midfielder could be on his way to Elland Road.

Forestieri is expected to leave Vicarage Road before the transfer window closes on September 1 after he wasn’t named in either of the match-day squads for the Hornets’ opening two Premier League fixtures.

Several Championship clubs are interested in signing the 25-year-old but Leeds, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, have already agreed a fee between £3 million to £4 million with Watford. 

The Whites had hoped to take Forestieri on loan but the Hornets were only willing to let him leave permanently. 

Rosler was asked about the transfer reports after his side’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, who are also said to be interested in Forestieri, this afternoon.

He replied: "I can’t tell you what is agreed or not agreed with Watford."

But Rosler then said that any signings Leeds have made this summer have been “the right players, at the right price and at the right age.”

He then added with a smile: "Forestieri, who you spoke about, he’s 25, yes? So…”
