Hornets forward Diego Fabbrini made it two goals in two games for loan club Middlesbrough as the Italian helped Aitor Karanka’s side complete a 3-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who is spending the campaign on loan at the Riverside Stadium, netted Boro’s third of the afternoon after taking advantage of a mistake from Leeds defender Sol Bamba.

David Nugent had opened the scoring before a comical own goal from Giuseppe Bellusci doubled the home side’s advantage.

Fabbrini made the game safe with his 81st minute goal and Middlesbrough currently sit second in the Championship after nine matches.

Matej Vydra, who is spending the season on loan at Reading, was ruled out of the Royals squad on Saturday due to injury.

The Czech Republic international was absent as Steve Clarke’s side defeated Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor.

Vydra did, however, attend Watford’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace yesterday and appeared in good spirits as he signed shirts and chatted to club staff.

Full-back Daniel Pudil was replaced in the 42nd minute of Sheffield Wednesday’s victory at Brentford due to injury.

The Czech Republic international’s injury was described as “not a major problem” after the game by Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal.

It was a Friday evening to forget for Gabriele Angella as his Queens Park Rangers side were beaten 4-0 by Fulham.

The Italian centre-back was beaten in the air by young striker Moussa Dembele for the Cottagers' opener before Ben Pringle and Ross McCormack added to the advantage before half time.

McCormack then struck in the second period to complete Fulham’s comfortable win.

Uche Ikpeazu played 45 minutes of Port Vale’s 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town in League One. The powerful striker started the contest but was replaced by Colin Daniel at the interval with Vale trailing 1-0.

It proved the right change as second half goals from Daniel and Sam Foley secured victory for the Valiants.

Sean Murray was an unused substitute as Wigan Athletic drew 1-1 with Oldham Athletic on Saturday in League One while Connor Smith wasn’t included in the Stevenage squad as the Boro lost 1-0 to Cambridge United in League Two.

Further afield, Miguel Layun played 90 minutes for Porto on Saturday but the Dragons were held to a 2-2 draw against struggling Moreirense in Primeira Liga while Hornets full-back Juanfran started and completed Deportivo La Coruna’s 3-0 over Espanyol in La Liga.
