Two students from the Paul Davis Fencing Academy have been selected to represent England in an international fencing competition.

Meghan Pick and Kaya Smith attend the academy based in St Albans and Harpenden.

The pair have been chosen to represent England in the Under-15 Sabre International Fencing Competition in Poland in March. Fencers from across the world will be taking part in this event.

The girls have won medals at county and regional championships and gained top results at the British Youth Championships last year.

They are the first fencers from Queenswood School to be selected to represent their country.

Their coach Paul Davis has also been selected as an England team coach which is a huge accolade for the club.

Davis and his fencing academy teach the sport to over 500 children across the county in schools and community clubs.

They also hold adult sessions in Hertfordshire and a ladies only morning.
