Watford Ladies are still waiting for their first win of the season in Women's Super League 2 after losing 3-0 to Everton in Widnes yesterday.

The Golden Girls have lost both their matches in the competition since their opening-day draw with London Bees and sit third from bottom in the table.

Katie Rowson’s side fell behind on 27 minutes when Claudia Walker followed up to score after her initial effort was cleared off the line.

But the damage was done at the start of the second half when the Merseysiders doubled their lead after 11 seconds through Danielle Turner before Simone Magill extended their advantage just five minutes later as Everton stormed up to second in the early league table.

Watford’s day got even worse when they were forced into two substitutions in the space of six minutes, with both Phoebe Read and Chontele Lawrence picking up injuries.

The Hornets’ start to the season doesn’t get much easier either as they face third-placed Bristol City at Berkhamsted next on Sunday.
