Pupils at Beechwood Park School have qualified for the English Schools’ Swimming Association Primary Schools’ Team Championship national finals for the third year in a row.

It is the first time both the girls’ and boys’ teams have made it through to the finals. Taking place in Sheffield this Saturday, the Markyate-based swimmers will compete against other schools in freestyle and mixed stroke events.

The Under-11 boys took 4.31 seconds off their team medley qualifying time to finish sixth at the recent Independent Association of Prep Schools national swimming finals.

Kieran Birkett and Henry Flatt made it through to the finals in sixth while Joshua Trewin was fourth. Isabella Chapman won silver with a personal best.
