Watford will start the new Premier League season with a trip to Southampton on August 13.

The provisional fixtures for the new campaign have been released this morning and Hornets' fans' eyes are likely to be immediately drawn to the first three home games of the season.

Walter Mazzarri will cross swords with current Italian boss Antonio Conte in the Hornets' first game at Vicarage Road on August 20 against Chelsea; seven days later London Colney training ground neighbours Arsenal come to town and following a trip to the Olympic Stadium to face West Ham United the Golden Boys are due to take on Jose Mourinho's Manchester United at home on September 17.

The Hornets travel to Sean Dyche's Burnley on September 24 and are away to newly-promoted Middlesbrough on October 15 before entertaining Championship play-off winners Hull City on October 29.

Champions Leicester City will visit Watford on November 19 and head to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on December 14.

Mazzarri's side will host Crystal Palace on Boxing Day before taking on Tottenham Hotspur at Vicarage Road on New Year's Eve.

Watford's first game of 2017 is a trip to Stoke City on January 2.

The Hornets host Liverpool on April 29 before travelling to Leicester on May 6 with their final away game at Everton on May 13.

Watford end the campaign at home to title favourites Manchester City on May 21.
