Watford remain unbeaten under new head coach Walter Mazzarri after their 3-1 friendly win over Union Berlin in Austria this afternoon.

The Hornets opened the scoring after just 13 minutes when Odion Ighalo's cross was fired home by midfielder Etienne Capoue via a deflection.

The Premier League side doubled their lead before the break when Abdoulaye Doucoure was fouled in the area and Troy Deeney converted the penalty.

Defender Christian Kabasele was handed his debut for the club in the second half after replacing Allan Nyom. 

Union Berlin pulled a goal back with 20 minutes remaining when Maximilian Thiel fired past substitute goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

New signing Juan Camilo Zuniga was handed his first appearance for the Hornets after he replaced Ikechi Anya.

Watford clinched the victory in the 83rd minute when substitute Steven Berghuis drilled home their third goal.
