Watford boss Walter Mazzarri insists Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater should have been sent off on Saturday after he was handed a three-game ban.
Drinkwater accepted a violent conduct charge from the FA after elbowing Valon Behrami during the Hornets' victory.
It was not spotted by referee Neil Swarbrick at the time but picked up afterwards by video footage which resulted in his suspension.
Head coach Mazzarri hopes to avoid a similar situation at home to Stoke City on Sunday despite his side not paying the penalty after Leicester avoided a red card.
Mazzarri said: "I saw the incident at the time and unfortunately the referee didn’t. He should have been sent off and it would have helped us during the game.
"Hopefully the same thing happens against Stoke and this time the referee sees it."
