Having won their away game 9-1 against London Tigers, Saturday’s match was not to be as straightforward for London Colney.

The game looked to be edging to a 0-0 draw as it approached full-time, before two goals in the last three minutes sealed the win for Colney.

The match carried a similar theme throughout with Colney dominating possession without managing to find the net.

That was until the final throes of the game when half-time substitute Jon Clements got his head to a pin-point cross from Dave Parkinson in the 89th minute to give them the lead.

Incidentally, that goal was the 100th scored in the league this season for the Blueboys.

In the second minute of added time, Ashley Morrissey slid the ball through to Parkinson who drilled the ball low into the corner to seal the points.

The next game for London Colney is at home to Hertford Town on Saturday 8th April at 3pm.

Harpenden Town kept their hopes of claiming the South Midland Division One title alive with a narrow 1-0 win over Codicote on Saturday.

The victory leaves Town three points off the summit of the table with seven games remaining in the season.

They were made to work for the three points on Saturday as 13th placed Codicote put up a surprisingly solid defensive display.

David Keenleyside would ultimately have the final say in proceedings, scoring in the 30th minute to hand Town a potentially vital three points in their pursuit of the title.

At the time of going to press, Harpenden were preparing to play Winslow United on Tuesday night before facing an away day against Risborough Rangers on Saturday.

Rangers sit sixth after a 3-0 win over Hadley & Wingate last time out.
