Watford’s youngsters will play St Albans City this afternoon – but the friendly will take place behind closed doors at London Colney.

The Hornets Under-23s had originally been due to travel to Clarence Park, but the match was postponed following the death of long-serving Saints supporter Clive Churchhouse while working at the ground and subsequent health and safety concerns.

Watford have announced via social media this morning the friendly will now go ahead, but it will be staged behind closed doors at their training base.

St Albans’ last friendly outing ended in a 2-2 draw at neighbours Harpenden Town on Thursday, while today's opponents went down to a late 1-0 defeat at Wealdstone last weekend.
