Kiko Femenia was rushed to hospital before the conclusion of Watford's superb 2-0 win at Southampton this evening, with the Spaniard's seemingly innocuous injury which forced him off at St Mary's perhaps more serious than first thought.
Femenia was substituted midway through the second half of the Hornets' second win from four in Premier League games this season after collapsing in the Watford box away from the play.
And after the 26-year-old disappeared straight down the tunnel, it turns out he was transferred straight to hospital for assessment.
Head coach Marco Silva said: “He went to the hospital, we’ll see what’s happened. I don’t think it’s anything dangerous but we’ll see.
“It’s again problems to solve during the match when we need to change two players in our back line.
"It happened in the first match against Liverpool, it happened last against Brighton with the red card for Britos and the players who came on helped the team again. It’s really important for us."
