Lukasz Fabianski is nearing a switch to West Ham United in a move which would end Watford’s interest in the Swansea stopper.

The Hornets have been linked with a £5 million move for the Polish stopper since the Swans suffered relegation from the Premier League last season.

However, the Hammers look to have won the race to secure the former Arsenal man as new Irons boss Manuel Pellegrini continues to rebuild his squad.

The news comes as Watford continue to be linked with a swoop for Sevilla’s Sergio Rico, who is also a target for Napoli.

Goalkeeper is an area of concern for Watford given Heurelho Gomes is in the final year of his contract and Orestis Karnezis looks unlikely to turn his loan into a permanent move.

Rico, 24, made 38 appearances for Sevilla last season and has played over 100 games for a club he has spent his entire career at.

The keeper is rumoured to have rejected a move to Napoli after they agreed a £16m deal with Sevilla and favours a switch to England.
