Watford Community Sports and Education Trust have won the Football Foundation Community club of the year at the 2010 Football League Awards.

The Hornets were named as joint winners alongside Southend United last night.

Watford supported the community with around 8,500 different sessions through the year, attracting in excess of 150,000 participants. The club also ran breakfast clubs at their Learning Centre.

The club were also recognised for the 'MyPlace' initiative which involves knocking down and re-building an old youth centre into a world class youth and community facility.

Watford chief executive Julian Winter said: "The bond with the community is absolutely essential it is a town based club it is important that we reach out and take the club into the community and are fully representative of the makeup of the different sections of our local community.

"Watford has had a great history of our managers, including Malky fully believing in the work in the community and ensures the players fully support the work that we do."

Who cares, its football results that matter. We have an inexperienced manager leading the club into relegation!!!!
