Malky Mackay has shuffled his pack for Watford’s penultimate pre-season friendly at Stevenage this evening, making five changes from the team that started the 3-3 draw at Northampton Town.
With Dale Bennett and Will Buckley ruled out with minor injuries, the Hornets boss was always going to have to make two alterations and it is no surprise that Lee Hodson and Marvin Sordell come into the side.
However, there is an unexpected change in goal, with Rene Gilmartin replacing Scott Loach, while Piero Mingoia and Stephen McGinn come in for Michael Bryan and Ross Jenkins, with the former not among the replacements either.
Stevenage, who followed up a 0-0 draw against Norwich City with a 2-1 win over Millwall on Saturday, include former Hornets keeper Chris Day.
Stevenage: Day; Laird, Roberts, Bostwick, Henry; Wilson, Murphy, Byrom, Winn; Griffin, Odubade.
Watford: Gilmartin; Hodson, Mariappa, Taylor, Doyley; Cowie, Eustace, McGinn, Mingoia; Sordell, Graham. Substitutes: Loach, Jenkins, Henderson, Kiernan, Whichelow, Oshodi, Aldred.
