The return of a popular Watford fanzine has already raised more than £1,150 for charity and the publication is now being put online in hope of raising more.

‘Clap Your Hands and Stamp Your Feet’ returned last Saturday for a one-off special and made a total of £1,345 on the day.

This meant that after costs were taken away, the fanzine raised more than £1,150 for the Bobby Moore Fund.

The makers decided to release the publication last week as it was the closest match to the 30th anniversary of Nigel Callaghan’s goal in the 7-1 League Cup victory over Southampton.

Callaghan is currently battling bowel cancer and the Bobby Moore Fund was the former Watford winger’s chosen charity.

Clap Your Hands and Stamp Your Feet was priced at £2.50 but fans were asked to donate an extra 50p in the way of ‘keep the change’ donation, which raised an extra £157.50.

Now the organisers are hoping to raise more money for charity by putting the publication on line here. It is free to download but the makers are asking for those who download to make a donation of at least £2.50 here, with the proceeds going to the Bobby Moore Fund.

- Former Watford Observer employee Lionel Bernie will be holding a webchat on Thursday at 12.30pm to discuss his new book ‘Enjoy the game’.

The book, which will be released early October, tells the story of Watford’s impressive rise from the Fourth Division to the First in the 1980s. For more information, go to www.lionelbirnie.com.
