St Albans Rangers earn Whetstone Pumas draw

St Albans Rangers Under-10s Red were held to a 1-1 draw at Whetstone Pumas in the Blue Division.
The match kicked off with Bayley Shipp covering between the sticks for the absent Jamie Kerr. Early pressure from the hosts led to a well struck goal from the right edge of the Rangers box.
Ben Day scored the equaliser after good build-up play from Rangers.
The visitors continued to press for a winner in the last ten minutes but the game finished all square. Oscar Reeves was man-of-the-match for his display on the right side of midfield.
Rangers Under-11 Reds ran out comfortable 12-1 winners in the first round of the Challenge Cup at Hadley Wood and Wingate. A confident start led to the opening goals for man-of-the-match Jake Carty before Hadley Wood pulled one back from a good through ball. David Emiloju got the first of his three before Carty completed a first-half hat-trick.
The second half saw the boys really turn on their passing game with further goals from Jimmy Donovan (2), Flynn O’Callaghan, Carty, Emiloju (two), an own goal and a deserved first for the club from Jack Bebb.
The Under-11 Whites lost 9-4 to Panathinayicos Youth in the first round of the Challenge Cup. Rangers put up a great fight, despite playing the game a man short, and managed to find the net four times through Jamie Berger, Harrisons Shipp, and star player Oscar Drury.
Rangers Under-12 Reds edged past Abbots Youth 3-2 after extra-time in the Challenge Cup. They started the game brightly and took an early lead after a deflected Jack Kerr strike. The away team had some good attacks and soon equalised in the first half before going in front.
Star player Amjad Choudary levelled the scores with a fine run and finish in off the post for 2-2.
The Under-16s put in another superb team performance to defeat Northwood 4-1. The young Saints turned round a deficit in the second half with four goals from Jeremy Stace. Brandon Chapman was man-of-the-match.
