The Hurricane Room in St Albans is set to host the Amateur Nations 9Ball pool championship next month featuring teams from England, Belgium, Ireland and Wales.

9Ball is a division of pool in which the balls are racked in a diamond shape, and are pocketed in numerical order, and The Hurricane Room will be hosting the inaugural tournament, which has backing to turn into an annual competition.

England have entered two teams of six players into the event, including local player Chris Bryant, with members selected from a qualifying event played on March 2. The event will be split into three disciplines; six-man teams, doubles and individuals, with over £3,000 in prize money for the winning team.

The Championships start at 7pm on Friday, April 28 and is open to anyone that wants to watch the events unfold over the weekend.
