London Colney recorded another win on Saturday as they overcame Hillingdon Borough 2-1.

Goals from Tom Smith and Matt Newman secured the South Midlands Premier Division victory for Colney, who took the lead after 15 minutes.

A corner from Jimmy Hartley was met firmly by Trevor Stevens, who headed against the underside of the crrossbar before Smith followed in to hand the Blueboys the lead.

Colney twice came close to doubling their advantage before Newman added a second at the third attempt, turning home a low centre from ten yards to build on the Colney lead.

Hillingdon pulled one back midway through the second half when Jimmy Froud met Benjamin Dunkley’s cross with a perfectly-placed header.

Tom Kirk nearly grabbed an equaliser for Borough with an effort which was cleared off the line, but Colney held firm to preserve the points.
