St Albans City reporter and historian Dave Tavener has appealed for help to identify players from a couple of old photographs.

The photographs from the late 1940s or early 1950s feature Carlton FC which is effectively a previous version of St Albans City Youth.

Spud Taylor, on the far right of the first photograph, has been identified.

In the second photograph, Dick East, far right, went on to be City assistant secretary from 1959-64 and secretary from 1964-67. McFarland and Nunn are on the far left but their christian names are not known.

If anyone can identify the players in either photograph you can contact the Review at smail@london.newsquest.co.uk or by emailing Dave Tavener at clarencepark@hotmail.com.
