St Albans Bowling Club’s Tricia Gascoigne was beaten by Shirley Page 21-17 in the National Senior Singles Competition.
Gascoigne took a 10-0 lead at the start but Page, of Baldock Bowls Club, pegged her back before snatching the advantage.
Ahead 17-13, Page survived a brief fightback from Gascoigne to win the final end and subsequently, take the match 21-17.
In the County Singles, Gascoigne beat Beryl Driscoll 21-10 at Harpenden Bowls Club.
Sunday saw St Albans lose to Harpenden 82-66 in a game which saw the lead change hands several times.
St Albans top rink was Carole Ewer, Trevor Ewer, Joyce Wilson and Jim McGregor, 20-16.
On Saturday, St Albans beat Hitchin 69-57.
The top rink was John Saguiez, Tony Morris, Sybil Steers and Dave Church, 27-9.
St Albans had also been victorious earlier in the week, winning a mixed game 86-48.
Top rink for St Albans was Carole Ewer, John Cooper, Eileen Englebright and Skip Titmus, 26-6.
