Harpenden Town thrashed Wodson Park 4-0 at Rothampstead Park on Saturday, as Harry Hunt scored his second hat-trick in five days, to maintain their unbeaten run at the top of South Midlands Division One.

Wodson Park were carved open a number of times during the match and it could have easily have been more than four for the hosts.

Hunt looked lively again when he ran down the right-hand side to whip in a cross for James Yates who could only nod his header wide.

Harpenden didn’t have to dwell on that miss for too long though, when another move was worked down the right hand side by James Ewington, who whipped in a cross which Hunt was able to nick into the bottom corner to give the home side the lead.

Hunt once again was found lurking in the box and snatched his second when he guided home a looping header into the top corner after 18 minutes from a great cross by Tom Colin.

He had a couple of opportunities to grab a first-half hat-trick but Wodson keeper Sheed-Ryan made two top saves to give the visitors a lifeline at the break.

On the hour the provider became the goalscorer when Ewington angled his header into the far corner after an exquisite piece of skill from Yates.

Ewington and Hunt combined once again this time with the former's cross enabling Hunt to volley in for his hat-trick.

Harpenden managed to raise £380 for Prostate Cancer on the day after supporters donated to the charity, instead of paying for a ticket, to mark Non League Day.
