Amy Platten continued her excellent form after winning the Under-15 44kg Flanders Judo Cup in Belgium.
The 13-year-old St Albans Girls School pupil recently won at the Sainsbury’s School Games for England and followed this up in Belgium.
Platten represented Britain and defeated two Germans, one Swiss, one Belgian and two Dutch players all by ippon (knockout).
Using her favourite techniques Uchi-Mata and O-Uchi-Gari, the teenager was just too strong for the European fighters. Platten also tried the Under-18 category and after some early success came a creditable fifth.
