London Colney moved up to eighth in the South Midlands Premier Division after a 3-0 home win over Hoddesdon Town on Saturday.

The hosts created early opportunities through James Ewington and Spencer Clarke-Mardel but visiting keeper Damos Horvath denied them from opening the scoring.

But the Blueboys’ pressure resulted in the opening goal when Danny Fitzgerald released Ewington and he drilled the ball home.

London Colney continued to threaten but the home side had to wait until ten minutes from the end to double their lead.

Greg Shaw played in Edwington and he kept his composure to fire past Horvath.

A through ball from Jack Woods released Hill and he netted the third goal to seal the points for Colney.

Ewington almost completed his hat-trick but was unlucky to see his volley rebound off the crossbar with the keeper well beaten.

It was the side’s sixth clean sheet in the last seven league games.

The Blueboys face a difficult home clash this weekend against league leaders Kings Langley.
