London Colney snatched a 2-1 victory at Holmer Green on Saturday in South Midlands Premier Division after a last-minute winner from Danny Fitzgerald.
The Blueboys had a lucky escape when the hosts hit the bar through Andy Shed. But the visitors responded and almost opened the scoring through Fitzgerald but his shot cannoned off the post.
London Colney had to wait until the 72nd minute to take the lead. Tom Smith released Martin Collins and he fired a low strike into the net past goalkeeper Dan Little.
It was nearly 2-0 when Spencer Clarke-Mardel’s fierce strike was parried by Little.
The hosts grabbed an equaliser in the 88th minute when a 30-yard shot from Marcus Mealing flew past Jack Woods into the top corner. It was the first goal Colney had conceded away from home for 1,222 minutes stretching back to October.
But there was one late twist in the match as Dan Power set up Fitzgerald for a 20-yard strike to clinch a dramatic win for the visitors.
