Batchwood Hall fell to 95-70 home defeat against Potten End in their four rink match.
They lost on three of the four rinks. The only winning Batchwood rink were well in lead until the 17th end when the visitors started a comeback but the group of Lionel Clark, Chris Whiting, David Waters and skip Eddie Jacobs held on to win 21-16.
Batchwood played away at Harpenden in a district league fixture which proved to be a challenging experience.
The Batchwood rink of Colin Watts, Whiting, Ben Dean and Steve Dean were the only ones to win out of the four rinks and by the narrowest of margins (20-19).
Batchwood Ladies came out on top in their home match against Garston.
Batchwood won by 35 shots to 26 in a two triples match with the team of Pam Ward, Tricia Brady and Liz Schlatter getting top rink (19-11).
The other team of Christine Vickers, Judith Simons, and Pat Savage edged to a tense 16-15 victory.
