Harpenden were knocked off the top of the Herts Premier Division after losing their unbeaten record following a 113-run defeat to North Mymms.

After losing the toss, Harpenden were forced to field first and had trouble restricting North Mymms to a total of 227 for eight.

Scott Galloway was the pick of the bowlers taking three for 25 while Richard Darwin claimed two for 57. Will Jones picked up one for 47 and Matthew Harper took one for 65.

Harpenden's hopes of maintaining their winning run were scuppered after a below par batting performance saw them dismissed for just 114 in 36.3 overs.

Gregg Cooper opened the batting and top scored with 24. Galloway contributed 22 and Simon White chipped in with 20 but the rest of the side failed to reach double figures in a disappointing result for the side.

Harpenden will attempt to get back on track this Saturday when they take on Hemel Hempstead Town.

The Seconds eased to a six-wicket victory over Met Police Bushey in Division Two B.

Batting first, Met Police Bushey were dismissed for 183 in 46.1 overs. Harpenden had few problems knocking off the runs for the loss of four wickets in just 29.2 overs.

Harpenden Thirds were held to a thrilling tie against Hertingfordbury in Division Four B.

Hertingfordbury opened the batting and scored a total of 244 for nine from their innings. Duncan Gilson returned figures of three for 33 and Samuel Jones picked up three for 57. Adam Roche took two for 52 and Daniel Sambrook managed one for 35.

Jones got Harpenden's response off to a promising start as he scored 57 while Deshan Karvnaratna added 27. Richard Marshall chipped in with 19 while B Guffman top scored with 58. Joshua Sambrook hit 30 in a gripping climax to the match as Harpenden were dismissed for exactly the same score as their opponents after 46.4 overs.

In Division Eight A, Harpenden Fourths lost but 37 runs to Northwood Town Seconds.

Northwood won the toss and opted to bat first with the team scoring 201 all out fro 47.3 overs. Archie Finch impressed for Harp as he took four for 27. Ben Wiles also made an impact taking three for 31 and there were contributions from Voigt (two for 50) and J Gill (one for 59).

Josephs opened the batting with a decent knock of 51 and Simon Wade scored 12. Randall notched 26 and Andrew Keens scored 28 but the side fell short as they were skittled out for 164 after 41.4 overs.

Harpenden Fifths thrashed Boxmoor Thirds by nine wickets in Regional Division A West.

Boxmoor were dismissed for 86 which always looked well short and Harp made short work of the run chase reaching the target in 21.4 overs for the loss of one wicket.

Harpenden Sixths fell to a 23-run defeat to Hatch End Seconds in Regional Division C East.

Hatch End managed a total of 203 for eight and Harpenden found this too much to chase as they were dismissed for 180.
