St Albans Bowls Club endured a mixed week of results across the most recent rounds of games.

The side lost in the district league to Potters Bar 91-72 with their one winning rink consisting of Alan Brittain, Colin Orchard, Ted Salvage and Tony Rylands.

Their friendly on Saturday against Kitcheners was more successful winning 84-76.

There were two winning rinks, which could not be separated by either ends won or total shots, one featuring Andy Kay, Maggie Kendrick, Eileen Cox and Steve Wilson, and the other, Oliver Wall, Trevor Ewer, Tom Banfield and Ken Budd.

The following day they were only able to field three rinks and were forced to concede 25 per cent of their shots as a result, eventually going down 66-45.

Their winning rink consisted of Andy Kay, David Dickson, Tony Morris and Peter Kay with their score of 27-19 reduced to 21-19.

St Albans Ladies were more successful on Thursday defeating Batchwood Hall 56-43.

The top rink featured Eileen Englebright, Cox, Carol Ewer and Barbara Davis and won 21-11.
