Townsend claimed wins over Clarence Park no less than three times in five days.
The midweek friendly saw an overall score of 72-56 and a 3-1 rink win to Townsend with one draw. The top rinks were those of Alan Tucker, Bob Lawrie and Peter Thomson who won 18-10, and Ron Seymour, Robbie Ransted and skip Les Perkins with a 23-14 score.
The first of two district trophy games, the Jones Cup, had the Townsend away rink drawing 14-14, while the home team, of Lawrie, Gary West and Danny Macro found the going more to their liking prevailing 31-18.
The Bob Vise was played at the Park, and although Steve Wilson got the home team off to a winning start in the singles, the other three disciplines went the visitors` way. In the pairs, Peter Thomson and Dave Houghton won 21-9.
In the triples Lawrie, Alfie Long and Gary West came home by a 28-13 margin, and the fours - undoubtedly the stars of the show - recorded a 32-12 victory. Alan Quested led, followed by David Day, Alan Charran and skip Roger Potter.
