London Colney have signed former Oxhey Jets striker Lee Armitt.

The prolific forward finished as the South Midland Golden Boot top scorer last season and the Blueboys have moved quickly to sign the striker.

London Colney eased to a 4-0 win over Dunstable Town Under-21s last week.

Manager Ryan Thompson was given the chance to look at some different players which he hopes to add to his squad. The Blueboys opened the scoring after nine minutes when Danny Fitzgerald laid the ball back for Greg Shaw to strike his effort into the net.

Lee Armitt then scored but his effort was disallowed for offside. But London Colney doubled their lead when Armitt held off a couple of challenges before firing into the net.

Armitt had another goal ruled out for offside but it was 3-0 in the second half when new signing Matt Standen, who has arrived from Sun Sports, forced the ball home from close range.

Another new player on display Chris McCarthy, who has signed from Colney Heath, fired narrowly wide of the target.

But the Blueboys made it 4-0 when Tony Bucaj flicked the ball home from close range.
