Batchwood Hall battled to an 18-15 win over St Albans in their men’s district pairs third round tie.
Martin Myland and Steve Dean managed to stay ahead after a comeback from Alan Brittain and Ken Budd as they edged to victory.
In the district league, Batchwood were at home to Hemel Hempstead who finished with a 79-68 defeat. Top rink for Batchwoodfeatured Jim Gibb, Eddie Price, Roy Flack and Eddie Jacobs (26-15).
Batchwood edged to a 68-65 friendly victory over Harpenden. The team won on one rink, with one drawn, and lost two.
On the drawn rink the last end finished with a wood from both teams touching the jack. Batchwood’s top rink was Roy Flack, Noel Godman, Colin Watts and Bernard Lusby (28-13).
