London Colney eased to a 4-0 win at Harefield United on Saturday to remain second in the South Midlands Premier Division.

The Blueboys got off to a fast start and were unlucky to see Russell Gallagher’s powerful header cannon off the crossbar.

But the opening goal arrived midway through the first half when Gallagher beat three defenders and curled a shot past goalkeeper Jacob Ballheimer.

The visitors remained in control of the contest and the only surprise was that the score stayed 1-0 until the second half.

London Colney added a second after the break when Greg Shaw blasted his shot into the net.

Substitute Stef Geraldes headed against the upright for the Blueboys.

The visitors netted a third goal eight minutes from time when Geraldes buried the ball after fine interplay from his team-mates.

London Colney rounded off the scoring late on when Dan Power laid the ball off to Jon Clements and his clinical finish gave the home keeper no chance.

It was almost 5-0 but Ballheimer denied Gallagher.

The victory leaves London Colney two points behind leaders AFC Dunstable.
