St Albans Hockey Club ladies claimed a valuable point after a 1-1 draw with Wimbledon at Oaklands on Sunday.

Natasha Humphris scored for the hosts as the game finished all square.

The ladies seconds have moved to third in the East of England Premier league after beating Bedford 2-0 on Saturday with goals from Vicky Trumpess and Hayley Payne.

The ladies thirds won 4-2 against Colchester with efforts from Sarah Cullum, Jo Moxham, Liz Cleverly and Bex Burton.

St Albans ladies fourths won 4-2 against local rivals Harpenden after Charlotte Moore (2), Sophie Lamb and Amy Couture netted.

The goals kept coming for the men’s section with the eighth team thrashing Southgate Adelaide 9-0. George Turner (2), Sam Vance (2), Ed Cook, Alastair Galloway, Nathan Murley, Andre Hugo and Chris Foster all scored. The men’s seconds won 4-0 against Old Loughtonians and the thirds beat Surbiton 2-1 after Harrison Brigs and Ian Loffler found the net.

A goal from Duncan Frazere helped the fourths to a 1-1 draw with Harpenden and the fifth team beat Blueharts 8-2. Mike Curtis (2), Troy Barrett (2), James Durham, Rosin Baskaran, Jamie Perkins and Matt Ashby all scored. The men’s sixth team won 6-3 against Welwyn Garden City with Scott Sellars (2), Robin Mobbs (2), Copeland Hewitt and Craig Cleaver on target. The sevenths beat Luton 2-1.

The Praetorians rounded off the weekend with a well fought 1-1 draw against Hampstead and Westminster after a strike from Jean Paul Vincent.
