St Albans Hockey Club men’s firsts drew 3-3 with Dereham in an entertaining match at the weekend.

Goals from Martin Scanlon, Ian Scanlon and Ravi Vijh secured the draw for the Saints.

The seconds were involved in a high-scoring battle with Hampstead & Westminster and came away with a 6-4 victory after Jacob Langley, James Harris, Scot Apps (3) and John Mould all scored for the Tangerines.

The men’s fifth and sixth team both had 1-1 draws against Hertford and Rickmansworth respectively, while the men’s sevenths had a 2-1 victory against Potters Bar thirds with goals from Albi Cohen and Josh Rose.

In another clash with Potters Bar, the men’s eighths won 2-0 against their fourth team following a brace from Alastair Turner.

The Centurions sealed a successful weekend for the club by winning 5-0 against Southgate Tankards, goals coming from Adrian Stephenson (2) and a hat-trick from Dave Sheridan.

St Albans ladies seconds celebrated after securing three points with a 1-0 victory against Dereham at Oaklands.

Rachel Taylor’s goal for the home team puts them comfortably in the middle of the East of England Premier League.

Charlotte Moore’s goal for the ladies fourths led to a 1-1 draw with Luton and the Boadiceas beat Tring 3-0 thanks to goals from Mary Oswin (2) and Helen Anton.
