Herts Division Two B leaders St Albans suffered their second defeat in a row after losing by 29 runs to North Enfield on Saturday.

Deciding to field, St Albans failed to take early wickets and were left frustrated as their opponents managed to reach 219 for seven.

Max Capaldi was harder to score against, taking three for 41 from his 14 overs. Jacob Winfield picked up two wickets in his last over to give them hope heading into their innings.

The Saints started promisingly enough scoring 75 from their opening 15 overs.

With the score at 97, the tiring James Rosson was caught for 37 and thereafter the innings struggled to gain any momentum as the required run rate grew.

Adam Hounslow reached his first 50 of the season, from 71 balls. But partners came and went in quick succession.

The tail were mopped up as the side were all out for 190.

It leaves them 17 points clear at the top with seven matches remaining.

In Division Four B, St Albans suffered a 26-run defeat to Northampton Exiles.

After limiting their opponents to 113, St Albans were all out for 87 in 36 overs.
