Harpenden Town’s grip on top spot in South Midlands League Division One showed no signs of loosening on Saturday as they beat Kensington Borough 3-1.

Goals from the prolific Harry Hunt, Sam Jenkins and Ben Warren made the difference for Town and Reanu Grossett hit back for Borough.

At the time of going to press, Harpenden enjoyed a six point lead at the summit of the table, but had played four more games than closest rivals Biggleswade FC.

With Town not playing this weekend, Biggleswade will have the chance to close the gap when they face Risborough Rangers away from home.

Town return to action on Saturday, December 17 when they host Harefield United at Rothamstead Park.

United have had a solid start to the season, picking up 11 wins from their 20 matches, and currently sit sixth in the table.

Harpenden will hope to replicate the form which saw them beat United 3-1 in October.
