FC Letchworth too strong in extra time (From St Albans & Harpenden Review)

FC Letchworth claim Shield win over Tansley

FC Letchworth had to work hard for their 7-3 extra time win over Tansley in the first round of the Benevolent Shield.

Sam Jackson scored all three Letchworth goals in normal time with Daniel Nash (2), Scott Hagland and Curtis Doyle adding the extra time efforts. Cem Duzgun (2) and Scott Wright netted for beaten Tansley.

St Ippolyts thrashed Asia 6-1. Richard Hall scored a hat-trick while there was one apiece from Andy Pennington, Josh Dance and Paul Underwood. Gem Samuel netted a consolation for Asia.

In the Premier Division, Barmond are still without a win as they lost 2-0 to RBL. Tommy Hunt scored both RBL goals.

City Hearts came very close to pinching a point off league leaders Potters Bar Crusaders as they lost 1-0 after a strike from Jimmy Edwards.
