St Albans crashed to a 74-run defeat to Kings Langley in Herts Division One on Saturday.

Kings Langley batted first and managed to score a total of 184 all out. Jim Chaudry was in excellent form with the ball as he picked up six wickets for 47 from 18 overs.

Stanley Tinkler returned figures of three for 60 while Martin Jones chipped in with one wicket.

St Albans opener Craig Bennett Scotcher scored 30 while his partner Matt Howeson added 20. Mohammed Asif Hussain contributed 34 but the rest of the side struggled with the bat and St Albans were dismissed for 110 in 43.4 overs.

St Albans Seconds were held to a draw with Datchworth in Division Four.

Their opponents scored 206 for nine from their innings. The Saints replied but could only finish up on 178 for six from 46 overs.

The Thirds eased to a six-wicket win over Waltham X Rosedale Seconds in Division Seven.

Waltham X were restricted to 166 for nine from their innings. St Albans chased down the target impressively and reached it for the loss of four wickets in just 33.1 overs.

But St Albans Fourths went down to an eight-wicket defeat to Redbourn Thirds in Division 11 West.

The side managed to score 205 for eight from 46.5 overs. Redbourn were not stretched in the run chase as they wrapped up the win with eight wickets in hand after 42 overs.

Old Albanians earned a draw against Radlett Seconds in Division Two.

After winning the toss, OAs opted to bat first and scored a total of 223 all out. Zahid Khan hit 38 before a fine knock of 74 from Chris Dobson. Tom Lincoln chipped in with 41 for the side as they set a competitive total.

Radlett never threatened the target as they finished on 168 for seven. Naseer Ahmed returned figures of three for 38 while Sagir Ahmed took two for 31.

Old Albanians Seconds lost by six wickets against County Hall in Division Seven.

The side were put into bat and opener Davide Rourke scored 80. Steve Jeffery notched a century (103) as Old Albanians finished on 234 all out.

County Hall had few problems as they chased down the target for the loss of four wickets. Victor Stairmand finished with two for 95.

Harpenden eased to a 139-run win over Letchworth Garden City in the Premier Division.

The side reached 285 for eight and managed to dismiss City for 146 in 38.4 overs.

The Seconds lost by 37 runs to Potters Bar Seconds in Division Three.

Potters Bar reached 144 for nine and Harp fell short of this as they were skittled out for 107 in 28.4 overs.

Harpenden Thirds battled to a four-wicket victory over Flitwick Seconds in Division Five.

Flitwick were all out for 128 and Harp needed 47.1 overs to claim the win for the loss of six wickets.
