Batchwood's men were unable to build on a reasonable start as they lost on three of the four rinks and 74-65 overall at Herts on Sunday.
The victorious rink was Terry Chandler, Jim Gibb, David Waters and John Harvey, who won 25-15.
Chandler also helped contribute to the top rink of 22-7 with Gordon Turner, Jim Head and Adrian Baddams as Batchwood were beaten 92-84 at home by Potten End.
A mixed team lost by 22 shots at Dunstable after only managing to win on one of the four rinks. The victorious quartet were Ben Dean, Tricia Brady, Lee Cunningham and John Harvey (21-12).
The club held its first ladies gala on Tuesday since the 2011 fire, with money being raised for President Jim Head's charities - Grove House and Help the Heroes.
The winning team was Radlett Bowls Club's Julie Woolidge, Judy West and Sheila Embleton, with the Hemel Hempstead trio of Norma Brown, Val Nash and Brenda Bennett coming second.
