London Colney celebrated Christmas in style after easing to a 3-0 victory at Oxhey Jets on Saturday.

The visitors got off to a dream start when a superb through ball from Danny Fitzgerald released Russell Gallagher and he rounded the keeper to open the scoring for London Colney.

Oxhey Jets were handed a potential lifeline when they were awarded a penalty.

But the hosts squandered their opportunity as the spot-kick was well saved by goalkeeper Jack Smith.

London Colney quickly punished the Jets by extending their lead.

Gallagher’s shot was parried but Joe Inman followed up to fire home the rebound effort and make sure of the points.

There was no way back for Oxhey in the second period and the third goal killed off the contest.

Elliott Bailey netted at the second attempt after excellent work from Gallagher and Dan Power in attack.

It was a comfortable end to the match for the visitors as they cruised to the points in their South Midlands Premier Division clash.

The Blueboys play their first match of 2015 on Saturday when they entertain Stotfold.

London Colney will take plenty of momentum into their home game having scored eight and conceded none in their last two victories.
