St Albans slumped to their third consecutive defeat in Herts Division Two after a nine-wicket drubbing to Leverstock Green on Saturday.

After losing the toss, St Albans were put into bat and it was a desperate batting display by the side as they were dismissed for a mere 62 in 26 overs.

Andrew Jones was out for a duck and fellow opener Henry Tyler scored 20. The only other players to reach double figures were Matt Howeson on 11 and Phil Caley with 13 during an innings to forget for the Saints.

Leverstock Green had no trouble at all chasing down the total for the loss of one wicket in just 10.4 overs. Joseph Clouting was the only player to pick up a wicket as he finished with one for 19.

St Albans Seconds fared somewhat better as they earned a 35-run win over Ampthill Town in Division Four B.

The decision to bat first paid off as the side scored a total of 249 for seven from their innings. Sam Kindlen opened with 60 which was the exact same score as Daniel Nicholls. Matthew Ingham chipped in with 46 and Amit Rajani also contributed 31.

In reply, Ampthill Town were bowled out for 214 in 43 overs. There were four wickets apiece for Ben Carroll, Rajani, Daniel Nicholls and Kindlen in an impressive all-round team performance.

St Albans Thirds defeated Langleybury Thirds by 49 runs in Division Eight A.

The Saints finished on 139 all out but Langleybury fell short of the target as they were dismissed for 90.

Harpenden had to settle for a draw with Letchworth Garden City in the Premier Division.

After winning the toss, Harpenden scored a total of 237 for six. Barney Francis (27) and Scott Galloway (24) got them off and running before Ben Frazer caught the eye with a knock of 68. Simon White finished unbeaten on 55.

Letchworth Garden City came close to snatching the win but fell short on 234 for nine from their innings. Dan Wightman was the pick of the bowlers taking four for 85 and Frazer came away with two for 41.

Harpenden Seconds earned a four-wicket win over Cockfosters in Division Two B.

Cockfosters were all out for 185 with Matthew Harper catching the eye after returning figures of five for 48. Nick Winchester also picked up three for 46.

Harpenden chased down the total for the loss of six wickets in 41.5 overs. Their top scorers were Benjamin Cawood, Nick Winchester and Dan Bradley (not out) after they all finished on 41.

The Thirds lost to Sandridge by five wickets in Division Four B.

Harpenden scored 169 for eight and Sandridge chased down this total as they reached 173 for five in 35.4 overs.

The Fourths claimed a six-wicket win over Waltham X Rosedale in Division Eight A but Harpenden Fifths lost by seven wickets to Radlett Fifths in Regional Division A West. Harp Sixths also lost by five wickets to Stevenage Sixths in Regional Division C East.
