Harpenden Town put two goals past Buckingham Athletic on Saturday at Rothamsted Park and kept a clean sheet thanks to a penalty save by goalkeeper Jake McLean in their 2-0 South Midlands Division One win.
Manager Danny Plumb said: "That was a good victory and I would like to congratulate Nathan Jarrett on his cracking goal on his debut for the first team.
"We now have four games in eight days so if we can provide consistent performances we should have a strong finish to the season."
Harpenden went ahead when Thys Eggink won the ball and passed to Charlie Gould who drove into the box and crossed into the middle from the goal line. Anthony Burns picked it up and scored with a first time shot.
Jarrett came on as substitute and with only his second touch met a throw-in, controlled the ball and blasted it into the net from 25 yards.
Buckingham got a penalty from a mis-timed tackle and keeper McLean managed to get a foot to the ball to block the shot for another clean sheet.
Harpenden have two home games in Rothamsted Park tomorrow and Thursday night this week against Wodson Park and Southall respectively before travelling to Winslow United on Saturday.
