Verulamians ended their season in style after beating Watford 46-10 to win the Herts Trophy at Allianz Park.
After conceding the opening try, Vees responded with Sam Townsend’s converted try giving them a 7-5 lead.
Michael Hollister then drove over from the base of a scrum to stretch their lead to 14-5 at half-time.
After the break Vees resumed their relentless attacks with Eion Aherne and Sam Allen scoring along with some conversions and penalties by Alex Ricci easing into a commanding 34-5 lead.
Not wishing to rest on their laurels, Vees’ Joe Baker shrugged off a tackle for a try.
Verulamians completed their scoring when Jack Alyson cheekily chipped the ball over the defence and collected it to finish off the attack.
Watford scored again late on through Martin Lee but Verulamians ran out comprehensive victors to clinch the Herts Trophy success at Saracens’ home ground.
