St Albans Bowling Club’s Robin Farrer, John Bartlett and Tony Rylands lost to a strong Harpenden trio in the third round of the District triples 22-9.
The midweek men lost away to Hatfield in a four rink friendly losing on three rinks 101-54.
Top rink for St Albans were Chris Debenham, Paddy Boyle, Kevin Hull and skip John Cooper (18-14).
The ladies played Hemel Hempstead in the triples league but lost on both rinks.
The men played local rivals Townsend in the triples league and won by five shots on the away rink and by four shots on the home rink.
Dave Kiff and Steve Wilson beat Roy Banks and John Bell of Hatfield in the district pairs 26-17.
In a five rink mixed friendly away to Hatfield, St Albans suffered a heavy defeat losing on all rinks 111-66.
The team were also beaten 123-82 in a five rink mixed friendly away to Potten End.
Harpenden defeated Potters Bar 63-52 in the south area final of the county club team championship.
The team will face Bishop’s Stortford in the semi-final of the competition on Sunday morning.
