St Albans Hockey Club’s ladies teams enjoyed a fine weekend as all of their teams picked up wins.

The firsts set the wheels in motion with a 6-1 thrashing of Northampton Saints as Sammie Archer and Bethan Davies’ braces added to strikes from Katie Hockley and Adele Sammons.

The Tangerines second string were in equally ruthless mood and beat Norwich City 4-0 thanks to goals from Annie Barratt (2), Briony Anyon and Fiona Mulder.

Meanwhile, Stevenage gave the thirds a far sterner examination as Vicky Fallan and Rebecca Burton registered in a 2-1 win.

Freya Burley, Gemma Little and Jodie Carter were all on the scoresheet as the Fourths eased to a 3-1 win over Luton.

St Albans' fifths rounded off the clean sweep of league wins with a 4-0 defeat of Bishops Stortford thanks to goals from Molly Wingate, Normandie Hincks, Heather Magee and Emily Foster.

The Ladies Vets continued the winning theme in the Over 35s Cup with a comprehensive 5-0 win over West Herts. Jen Birch (2), Marie Jones, Jo Weston and Liz Cleverley got the goals.

John Mould starred as a battling display from the Men’s firsts saw them come from a goal down to record a 3-1 win over Letchworth at Oaklands.

The seconds had a less productive weekend and played out a 2-2 draw with Richmond, while the thirds beat Old Loughts 5-1.

Finally, the fourths ran out 1-0 winners in a hard fought contest with Bishops Stortford.
